Electrical Testing & tagging of portable equipment

How We Carry Out Testing
We take a thorough approach to ensure every appliance is safe and compliant:
-
Initial Visual Check
Before any equipment is powered up, we inspect it for visible issues such as damaged cords, exposed wiring, bent plugs, or other signs of wear and tear. Anything that doesn’t look right gets flagged immediately. -
Comprehensive Electrical Testing
Using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT), we assess the appliance’s internal safety. This includes checking for earth continuity, proper lead polarity, and adequate insulation resistance — key indicators of electrical integrity. -
Clear Tagging & Reporting
After testing, we apply a pass/fail label directly on the appliance for easy identification. All results are digitally recorded in our system, so you have a detailed log of what’s been tested, when, and the outcome.
RCD Safety switch testing
How We Carry Out Testing
We carry out our safety switch (RCD) testing in line with Australian Standards AS/NZS 3760, ensuring your electrical systems are compliant and reliable. Our process includes two essential tests:
-
RCD Trip Test
This test simulates a fault by introducing a surge to assess how quickly the safety switch reacts. A properly functioning RCD should trip within 40 milliseconds fast enough to prevent serious harm. -
Push Button Test
We activate the test button to verify the switch trips as expected. This is a basic but vital check to confirm operational functionality. -
Reporting
Once testing is complete, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining each switch's results (pass/fail), and any recommendations if corrective action is needed.

Microwave Radiation Leakage Testing

Over time, microwaves naturally wear down and with that wear can come increased radiation leakage, which poses a potential health risk if left unchecked. Our job is to make sure yours is still operating safely and within the recommended exposure limits.
How We Carry Out Testing
-
External Condition Check
We start with a visual inspection of the unit’s exterior, checking for damage to the door seal, hinges, or casing any of which can contribute to radiation leakage. -
Radiation Leakage Measurement
With the microwave operating, we conduct a precise test to measure radiation output. This ensures it remains below the strict safety thresholds outlined in Australian guidelines. -
Reporting
Every test is logged, and you’ll receive a report noting the appliance’s condition, test outcome, and any recommendations. This also helps us maintain a history for future testing cycles.
Emergency Exit Light testing
In an emergency like a fire or power outage, people need to find their way out quickly and safely, functioning emergency exit lighting plays a crucial role in that. Whether it’s in a workplace, school, residential building, or public space, these lights must be clearly visible and fully operational to meet safety and legal standards.
Our testing process is designed to ensure your emergency lighting performs when it matters most:
How We Carry Out Testing
-
Condition & Placement Check
We visually inspect each light to make sure it’s working correctly, clearly visible, and positioned in strategic locations to guide safe evacuation. -
Battery Performance Test
We simulate a power failure to confirm that the backup battery keeps the light running for the required time period — a critical factor during real emergencies. -
Cleaning & Maintenance
Exit lights are cleaned to remove any dust, dirt, or obstruction that could affect brightness or visibility. -
Reporting
You’ll receive a full report outlining test results, unit locations, and any maintenance needs. This helps meet legal requirements and ensures we’re ready for your next scheduled test.
Emergency lighting is more than just a safety feature — it’s a legal requirement. Ensuring your lights are in working order helps you meet WHS regulations and fulfil your Duty of Care to staff, tenants, and visitors.

Fire Extinguisher testing

As part of our routine fire safety checks, we carry out a thorough inspection of each fire extinguisher to ensure it’s safe, accessible, and compliant with regulations.
How We Carry Out Testing
-
Visual & Physical Check
We examine each extinguisher for correct placement and mounting height, confirm that brackets and safety pins are secure, inspect for any damage or missing labels, and ensure a security tie is intact. -
Pressure Gauge Reading
The gauge is checked to confirm it’s within the correct pressure range, indicating the extinguisher is ready for use in an emergency. -
Tagging & Reference
Once inspection is complete, we apply a tag with a unique reference number showing the type of service performed making it easy to track maintenance history at a glance. -
Reporting
All findings are logged in our software system, allowing us to monitor service intervals and ensure your extinguishers are retested every six months, as required.
Fire Blanket Testing
Fire blankets are a vital first response tool, especially in kitchens and areas prone to small fires. To ensure they’re ready for action, they must be inspected regularly for accessibility, condition, and compliance.
Our fire blanket testing process includes:
-
Visual Inspection
We check the fire blanket's casing for cracks, signs of wear, or tampering, and confirm it’s mounted securely and in an easily accessible location. -
Label & Compliance Check
We ensure the blanket is clearly labelled, carries the correct certification, and displays the appropriate signage for emergency use. -
Blanket Condition Assessment
While the blanket remains sealed unless damaged or expired, we examine the packaging and seals to confirm the blanket is intact and has not been compromised. -
Tagging & Reporting
Once the inspection is complete, we tag the unit with the inspection date and service details. All information is also recorded in our system to maintain compliance records and assist with tracking future service dates.
Regular fire blanket testing ensures this essential safety device is always ready to deploy when needed helping meet Work Health & Safety obligations and keeping people protected.
