Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is Test and Tag?
Test and Tag involves inspecting and testing portable appliances to ensure they are safe to use. Each appliance undergoes a visual inspection & electrical testing followed by tagging with a label showing the test date and next due date.

2. Why do I need to Test and Tag my equipment?
Workplace safety regulations require all electrical equipment to be safe for use. Test and Tag helps prevent electrical accidents, reduces the risk of injury, and ensures compliance with Australian WHS standards.

3. How often do I need to Test and Tag?
The frequency depends on your workplace environment. For example, Construction sites require testing every 3 months, while office environments may only need it every 12–24 months.

4. Who can carry out Test and Tag?
Only individuals with accredited Test and Tag training are qualified to perform this service. Our team is fully qualified and uses calibrated equipment to ensure accurate results.

5. What types of equipment need to be tested?
Any portable electrical equipment or appliance that plugs into a power outlet needs testing, including portable power tools, computers, extension leads, kitchen appliances, and more.

6. Do you provide records of the testing?
Yes. After testing, we provide a detailed compliance report and asset register, so you have full records for audits, insurance, and safety compliance.

7. How long does Test and Tag take?
It depends on the number of items. On average, each appliance takes only a few minutes. We work swiftly to minimise disruption and keep your business running smoothly.

8. Can you Test and Tag after business hours?
Yes. We offer flexible scheduling, including after-hours and weekends, to avoid disrupting your workplace operations.

9. What happens if an item fails the test?
If an appliance fails, we’ll tag it as unsafe and remove it from service. We’ll also advise on repair or replacement options.
